For all you cheap Taiwanese watch haters

So today I was fiddling with my watch and it was true what my cousin was saying about it. It was cheap. You could feel it especially in the metal band ones like this. My cousin bought about a dozen watches while we were in Taiwan and they all had leather bands. This two dollar watch caught my eye and even though it was metal i got it. i left taiwan with two watches and one of them already broke by the time i left.

From far away, this watch looks pretty nice. its even a legit brand! Bethoven. not Beethoven. but Bethoven! No watch beats my cousin's "Kevin" watch. Anyway yeaah, so you can imagine my having second thoughts about bringing it to Exodus, my church's retreat for men where we go to Zion National Park and go hiking. Would my watch last? I had faith in it and it was still kinda fun to wear. besides matt hodges, i ended up being the only guy with a watch. so i would constantly be asked what the time was because it was important to keep everything on time. my watch served a purpose and even though one day i twill fail, it will have served its purpose. it survived all through west rim, angel's landing, the narrows and stuff. when the water got too high i took it off because i knew it couldnt handle it like how God knows how much we can handle. He gives us our purpose and we are able to go through so much even though we're cheap and fragile. sometimes mocked by the world, etc. and whenever i see it, before it breaks, i can be reminded of this lesson
